A Kashmir winter is beautiful but genuinely cold, especially in Gulmarg. Pack right and you'll enjoy every moment. Here's our tried-and-tested checklist.
Clothing
- A heavy insulated jacket
- Thermal inner-wear (top and bottom)
- Warm sweaters or fleece layers
- Woollen socks, gloves, a beanie and a scarf
- Waterproof snow boots with good grip
Accessories
- Sunglasses (snow glare is strong)
- Sunscreen and lip balm
- A power bank (cold drains batteries fast)
- Basic medicines and any personal prescriptions
Good to know
Hotels provide heaters and plenty of blankets, and snow boots can be rented near Gulmarg if you'd rather not carry them. Travel light on formal wear β comfort and warmth matter most.
