Kashmir has been India's honeymoon capital for generations, and for good reason. It's romantic without trying — misty lakes, snow peaks, candlelit houseboats and quiet meadows made for two. Here's how to plan it well.

How many days do you need?

For a relaxed honeymoon, 5 to 7 nights is ideal. That gives you time for Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam without rushing. A 3–4 night trip works if you're short on time and focus on Srinagar and one day trip.

Where to stay

Split your nights between a deluxe houseboat on Dal Lake and comfortable hotels in Gulmarg or Pahalgam. The houseboat experience is the one most couples remember most.

Romantic things to do

  • A private shikara ride at sunset on Dal Lake
  • A candlelight dinner on your houseboat
  • The Gulmarg gondola for snow and views
  • A slow walk along the Lidder river in Pahalgam

Best time for a honeymoon

Summer (June–August) for green meadows, or winter (December–February) if you want snow together. Both are magical in different ways.

Our honeymoon packages include the little touches — flower decoration, a welcome shikara ride and a private candlelight dinner. Tell us your style and we'll tailor the rest.
